Abstract
Objective: to compare the clinical characteristics of survivors (GS) and non-survivors (GNS) to SAR-CoV-2, treated in a second level hospital.
Methods: Retrospective cohort study, 100% hospitalized from March to September 2020 were studied.
Results: Of 765, 448 survived, the mortality rate was 41.4%. The GNS presented elevated glucose, D-dimer, CRP and leukocytes and greater use of ventilatory devices vs the GS. In the GS there was a higher frequency of people with comorbidities. The predictors of mortality were CURB-65 (p=0.000) and HIV (p=0.000) and the qSOFA scale (p=0.000), comorbidities were not statistically significant.
Conclusions: Mortality was higher in males, with a greater possibility of not surviving people with blood group A, with HIV, high CURBS 65 and qSOFA scores, need for intubation and use of mask, older age and increased leukocytes.
