Title: Analysis of the feasibility for the development of a mobile application for nursing home care

Abstract

Introduction: mHealth has contributed in recent years as a fundamental element in healthcare´s Present and future. Furthermore, health apps open the door to new opportunities to face challenges such as prevention, assistance and sustainability of health systems. 
Objective: Determine the feasibility for the development of a mobile application for home nursing care. 
Methodology: Quantitative-descriptive cross-sectional research, composed by 359 participants. An experts-reviewed questionnaire was used, submitted to the approval by the Research and Bioethics Committee, in addition to an informed consent. It was analyzed using the IBM SPSS Statistics program, 25 version. 
Results: The Vital Signs Measurement service ranked 69.9%, Injection 59.3% and Elderly Care 53.2%. The estimated price for Elderly Care per hour 35.9%, Child Care per hour 35.4% and Intravenous Hydration 33.7% predominates “Between $201 - $250”, for Injection “Less than $50”; 38.4% and Wound Healing “Less than $200”; 30.4%. Personnel transportation “More than $70”; 30.6%. For Safe Contact was 88.3% and the Utility to request a professional through a mobile app 87.1%. 
Conclusions: The impact of a possible house service mobile application has generated quite an interest this is because it would satisfy the need of addressing a reliable, efficient and safe service since we are talking about an innovative application related to the house health.

Adriana Cruz-García has graduated from the Faculty of Nursing at the Autonomous University of Queretaro, Mexico. She is one of the authors of the scientific publication: "Analysis of the feasibility for the development of a mobile application for home care Nursing". She is currently working as a private nurse (home care) in the municipality of Tequisquiapan.
